Formerly RTCO Tool Library, Modcon Living’s Tool Library offers over 200 different types of tools and over 4,500 individual hand and power tools.

Loans to Individuals and Non-Profit Organizations

The library loans tools to individuals and to non-profit organizations. Tools are loaned for periods of 1 or 7 days, depending on the tool.

Tool Library members pay an annual membership fee to borrow tools. In addition, we charge a $2 maintanence fee for our gasoline machines and wet/dry vacs. If a member returns a tool late, general late fees per tool/per day are as follows: $.50 for hand tools, $1.00 for power tools, $5.00 for 1-day rentals, & $60.00 for floor sanders (please always refer to the tool list late fees per tool/ per day).

To Qualify for MembershipTo qualify for membership, an individual needs to live in Franklin County. The program is designed for homeowners. Tenants are able to become library members, as well, but their property owner must give permission on their application. There are no income restrictions to being a Tool Library Member.

Organizations who are working on service projects in the Columbus area can become members of the Tool Library to borrow tools.
